KF Wind Selects SK Oceanplant as Preferred Bidder for the Supply of Floating substructure

KF Wind announced that it has selected SK oceanplant as the preferred bidder for the supply of floating substructure for its 1,125 MW floating offshore wind project under development off the coast of Ulsan.

This selection forms part of KF Wind’s strategy to establish a robust supply chain for the East Blue Power (EBP), Subject to the outcome of forthcoming negotiations, SK Oceanplant is expected to participate as a key fabrication partner responsible for the manufacturing of floating substructures. Production is planned to take place at the company’s Goseong Yard No.3 (new yard), scheduled for completion in 2028.

KF Wind is a 1,125 MW floating offshore wind farm, being developed in three phases KFW 1, KFW 2, and East Blue Power (EBP), located 80 kilometers off the coast of Ulsan in the exclusive economic zone. Once completed, it is expected to generate around 4,000 GWh of renewable electricity annually—equivalent to about 12% of Ulsan’s annual power demand or the electricity consumption of roughly one million households.
